Students at NMH have the opportunity to collaborate with students and teachers at partner institutions without having to travel. Using new audio and video technology with ultra-low latency, they can play together, take part in lessons, and develop artistic projects as if they were in the same room.
To make these opportunities possible, we rely on teachers who are willing to take the initiative and integrate this type of collaboration into their teaching. MVTP is currently used as a resource within the IN.TUNE university alliance.
MVTP
Facilitate cross-border musical collaboration through the MVTP platform.
What can you use this for?
As a teacher, you can, for example:
- facilitate live collaboration between your students and students at partner institutions
- incorporate international masterclasses and workshops into your teaching
- initiate collaborations on compositions or artistic projects
- invite guest teachers to join your classes remotely
- explore new formats for concerts and teaching, with students participating from different locations
This gives students access to international experiences, new forms of collaboration, and professional networks as part of their studies at NMH.
An evolving opportunity
MVTP is short for Modular Video Transmission Platform. The system is still under development, and we are working closely across academic, technical, and administrative environments to further develop this opportunity.
At present, such projects must be initiated by, and planned in close collaboration with, a teacher. The aim is for this type of collaboration to gradually become a natural part of teaching and learning at NMH.
We collaborate with IN.TUNE partner institutions:
- National University of Music Bucharest
- Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris
- Sibelius Academy at Uniarts Helsinki
- Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona
- University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna
- Royal Conservatoire The Hague
- University of Arts in Belgrade
