Apply for Strategic Funds 2025

Do you have a project highlighting the role and power of music in society and inviting new and relevant collaborations, or do you have ideas on improving recruitment and diversity at NMH?

Or are you thinking of another project that can develop us in line with our new strategy, "Music Moves!"? (Will be stranslated to English soon)

The strategic fund is intended to serve as investment capital for NMH's future and help us achieve a development that preserves and strengthens our societal position.

The NMH board has approved the announcement of strategic funds, which will be used to establish projects and activities that support the strategy.

Prioritising Applications Related to Strategic Goals

Projects and activities that strengthen NMH in highlighting the role and power of music in society, activities that promote collaboration with external and internal practice fields, or work purposefully with recruitment and/or diversity will be prioritised.

Other projects that can demonstrate support and development of NMH in directions defined in the strategy may also receive support.

Projects may include performance and creative activities with thematic angles, collaboration with concert organisers, festivals, and other cultural actors, cross-disciplinary teaching projects, conferences, seminars, and outreach activities. The funds can be used to strengthen collaboration between different fields, develop areas of expertise (including administrative), and for projects on communication, dissemination, and more.

Projects Totalling 2.5 Million NOK

The board has allocated 2,500,000 NOK for the initiative in the 2025 budget. Projects should ideally be completed during 2025. However, it is possible to apply for projects with a timeframe extending to 2026, provided that budget allocations continue in the 2026 budget. Projects should have a budget range between 50,000 and 500,000 NOK per year.

All Staff Can Apply - Involve Students

The funds are intended for collaboration within NMH and/or with external partners. All staff can apply (including temporary employees with a contract at NMH for the project's duration). We strongly encourage students to be involved in the projects.

The funds can be used for salaries (work hours) and operating costs (e.g., travel and accommodation). Applicants must also allocate hours for project administration.

Criteria

When prioritising applications, emphasis will be placed on:

  • The relevance and potential of the project/activity in light of NMH's strategy 2025-2035
  • Involvement and project participants across internal and external fields
  • Active involvement of students
  • Planned continuation after the project ends, e.g., application for external funding
  • Gender balance and diversity in composition and perspectives in the project

A committee of academic and administrative members will evaluate applications. The committee will make recommendations for the Principal and director's final decisions.
