Following the primary strategy NMH Moving Music, work began in spring 2025 on creating an underlying R&D action plan. The process has involved centre directors, the previous R&D Committee, the new R&D Committee, fellows, administrative staff, and external contributors through seminars, meetings, and feedback rounds.
R&D as a theme in the Organisational development process
R&D has also been a central theme in discussions between academic departments and the rectorate following the receipt of the Agenda Kaupang report on organisational structure, which included clear recommendations for the R&D area.
Effective for five years from January 2026
The draft R&D action plan, along with consultation feedback, will serve as the basis for measures related to the organisation, planning, and dissemination of R&D activities starting in January 2026.
The action plan is designed to guide various initiatives over the next five years, aiming to create optimal working conditions for R&D, provide predictability in planning and dissemination, and significantly enhance R&D activities in line with our societal responsibilities. This will be rooted in NMH’s primary strategy and the development agreement with the Ministry of Education and Research.
Seeking concrete feedback
Questions to consider when providing feedback:
- Are the proposed ambitions and activities in the action plan at the right level? Is a 5-year timeframe reasonable?
- Are there gaps or blind spots in the plan?
- Does this plan encompass the full scope of R&D activities at NMH?
- Are there additional suggestions, wording changes, or other amendments to consider?
