Universal Design of ICT

Find everything you need to know and guides to accessible Word documents, PDFs, PowerPoints, Excel forms and content to be published on our websites.

What is UD-ICT?

Universal design of ICT is about creating solutions that are necessary for some but great for everyone. By following the accessibility requirements, we can ensure that as many people as possible may independently access our information. Please view the video at the bottom of this page for a two minutes' introduction to the topic.

Tips

Universal design of ICT is shortened UD-ICT and is often called accessibility.

Documents

How to create an accessible document

Making a document accessible for all is a requirement for files going on our websites and part of working with document processing and teaching materials. Below you will find guides on making various documents universally designed and tips to publishing on our websites accessibly.

Universal Design og Accessibility in Canvas

Ally - Tool to improve universal design and accessibility in Canvas

The support tool Ally is integrated with Canvas. Ally provides teachers with an overview of potential problems with universal design of the content in Canvas and help to improving it.

The Ally tool also makes it possible for all Canvas users to convert the Canvas content into alternative formats suited to the needs and preferences of the individual.

Websites

Websites accessible for all

Both our internal and external websites have to be 100 per cent universally designed. The requirements apply to all of NMH's websites – including websites hosted outside of Craft CMS.
