Reasons for restructuring

The NMH is increasingly busy in terms of both study programmes and R&D. Combined with external requirements and obligations, the Academic Affairs and Research Department has expanded in recent years in order to be able to offer adequate support to the academy’s core activities. It therefore became necessary to address the structure of the department to minimise bottlenecks, ensure effective decision-making processes and create space for broader development processes. The new structure will better enable the director of academic affairs and research Camilla Sønstabø Thorkildsen to monitor these processes while maintaining overall responsibility for the department.

The new structure has now been implemented following a thorough process internally in the department. The structure was formalised before Christmas.

CEMPE now and in the future

The administration of CEMPE has transferred from the division for research and development administration to the division for quality in education, internationalisation and lifelong learning. In the past it was logical for the CEMPE administration to be part of the R&D team since the centre has many similarities with the R&D centres at the NMH. However, CEMPE has now entered a new phase where the implementation of methodologies and findings in ordinary teaching activities is key. At an administrative level this requires close co-ordination with programme development and digitalisation processes.
