The government's AI funding initiative has been allocated, and NMH is involved in a centre that will explore creativity and artificial intelligence, addressing issues such as copyright and regulation.

The centre is one of six research centres that have received funding to study how artificial intelligence impacts society, develops technology, and strengthens innovation and value creation.

AI and Creativity

The research centre, "MishMash – Centre for AI and Creativity", will be led by Alexander Refsum Jensenius at UiO. "We will ask the question: Can AI or machines be creative, and how can we create new and different AI models that can interact with humans?" Jensenius told Khrono.

The Research Council writes that the research results are relevant to many sectors, particularly creative industries such as film, music, design, and literature, as well as public and private actors in health, education, and cultural heritage.

This is incredibly exciting! It's a phenomenal team of professionals who will work together at this centre, and NMH is contributing a fantastic team to this collaboration. From my perspective, is particularly exciting that the centre will include both traditional research and artistic development work – this bodes well for both knowledge development and the future. I am greatly looking forward to getting started!
