Christmas greetings from the Principal

We hope both of you who are about to complete your first semester and those who have been here for several decades enjoy, develop and appreciate being strictly at NMH.

In the past year, we have completed the 2023-24 anniversary year with several events and a historical photo exhibition on the third floor that we can enjoy for a long time. This fall, the principal's office has been in this corridor while the administration area has been renovated, and it has been nice to "live" between the pictures and, as it were, in the middle of traffic. At the same time, we look forward to getting those located in Furuholmengården - some for several years, some in the fall - back to Slemdalsveien before Christmas!

NMH is a highly vibrant institution, full of committed people with ambitions for the future. Channelling some of this into the new strategy, which is now ready for approval by the board, has been an exciting and rewarding process throughout 2024. We are excited to continue working based on what is good - and what can be better - at the Academy of Music.

We will also start several European University Alliance IN activities in the coming year.TUNE, we will continue to play and sing and produce concerts, teach and learn, practice and research, and engage in artistic development work. We will conduct entrance exams and examinations, welcome new students and say goodbye to others. Amid all this, we hope everyone finds time to breathe, chat with old and new acquaintances and experience that you are part of an inclusive and good community.

Christmas can be a good time to breathe out and be with people you appreciate around a nice table. Recently, Astrid got to decorate gingerbread in the canteen with the students. Thanks to the Student Committee for the activities that connected us!

All in all, thanks to all of you who make the Academy of Music what it is every week! We look forward to the continuation.
