Study Programme: The PhD programme in Music Research
The PhD programme in Music Research: Workshop on writing the project description
Would you like to apply for a PhD in Music Research, but struggle to write your project description?
About the workshop
Writing a good project description is the key to being accepted into a PhD programme. In this workshop, you will meet three former PhD Fellows in the PhD programme in Music Research who have been through the same process as you are undergoing now. Together, they will facilitate a workshop on writing the project description.
Organiser: The PhD Committee (the PhD programme in Music Research).
Content
Part 1 (16:00-17:00) will review the requirements for the project description based on the guidelines available on the website. There will also be time for Q&A. If you do not have the opportunity to come to NMH, you can follow part 1 digitally. Part 1 could be held in English if there are participants who do not understand Norwegian.
Part 2 (from 17:00) is only open for participation in person. In this part, the participants work on formulating their own projects with coaching from the teachers.
Registration
The workshop requires registration. When registering, you will be asked to provide a preliminary title and research question, a brief description of the planned theoretical and methodological framework and ethical perspectives (up to 450 words/3000 characters). We also ask for your educational background.
It will be possible to register for part 1 only. Part 2 requires participation in part 1.
The registration deadline is 1st January 2026 at 23:59, local time.
