Rector(ch)at 2–2026: Results from the Working Environment Survey

-

The response rate for the working environment survey is higher this time (65%) compared to the previous survey. All the overall results will be presented at a digital meeting.

Some preliminary findings

On a scale from 1 to 5, where 1 is to a small extent, and 5 is to a large extent, employees responded:

  • Meaning and motivation in work: 4.4 = very high and positive!
  • Engagement and sense of belonging to the workplace: 4.3 = very high and positive!
  • Autonomy: 4.4 = very high and positive!
  • Receiving support from colleagues: 4.2
  • Providing support to colleagues: 4.4
  • Collegial community: 4.3
  • Psychological safety – acceptance and appreciation: 4.2

Comparisons

The scores for motivation, meaning, and community have remained consistently high across all three working environment surveys. However, there are also some disparities within the organisation. This means that there are variations in some areas from section to section.

At the meeting, the project manager from NTNU will review the results and compare them with those from surveys conducted in 2022 and 2018.
