The Iranian singer, cultural activist and vocal teacher Mahsa Vahdat will give a workshop for singers og instrumentalists at NMH.

Mahsa Vahdat Iranian singer, cultural activist and vocal art educator based in San Francisco Bay area invites vocalists and instrumentalists of all backgrounds, genders, geographies, and levels of experience to join her in discovering new paths to the freedom of vocal expression.

Using the texts of Iran’s great classical and contemporary poets, including Hafez, Rumi, Khayyam, Farokhzad, and others, participants will find inspiration in the rich tradition of Persian poetry. The workshop will provide the text in phonetics, allowing everyone to experience the nuances, ornamentation, improvisation and unique expressions of Persian modal singing, no matter their linguistic background.

Mahsa will provide a safe and secure platform where participants can explore their voices freely and confidently, creating an environment of creativity and growth.
