Research shows that engaging in meaningful activities with others is essential to combat loneliness, social exclusion, and mental stress. Especially during turbulent times.
One in five people in Norway has few or no one to turn to when they are going through difficult times, and more people are experiencing loneliness now than before the pandemic.
However, being around others does not automatically make us less lonely.
This year's campaign for World Mental Health Day encourages us to make our most significant meeting places more inclusive, regardless of ability, gender, age, ethnic background, or sexual identity.
